I started using the Facebook IM in my Adium (you can also use it with Pidgin or one of the other Windows clients with a plugin), and it broke whenever I would switch over to the new facebook. I'm not sure if they changed that, but the chat would sign me out every time I switched to new facebook.

@Jared - Yeah, many opinions I hear are not based on the ability to communicate but that items are "lost"

@Jim - I agree that is the knock on the new design (lack of customization) and that my bio is a click away, but I like that the feed is first. I like that the communication stuff is right up front.

@Kevin - Me neither. But watching this change is getting me more excited about Facebook. It is so easy to connect and engage now. I just don't like that it's a walled garden.

I think it depends on where your friends are, but I just see Facebook as taking a huge step forward with communications (not with 'personal branding')

Tabbed browsing = good

I don't *dislike* the new look, I just wish it were fully customizable. Specifically, I wish I could control the order of the page and put the most important information (my contact info) higher up and things that aren't as important (mini feed and applications) either at the bottom of the page or in their own tab. I don't like that the first thing you see on my profile is the mini feed.

Spot-on, Rob. I'm already seeing effects of Facebook doing a much better job exposing the conversational aspect of posted items, status, etc. in the new design. It's much more sensible and really aligned well with the social web. I wonder if anybody will get it...

Thanks Angel. What is it you are looking for that you can't find?

I agree, and mentioned, that there are some things I don't like about it. But I still think that the new design lends to much better communication between others. What do you feel about that?

And thanks for the invite.
